Jurij Kmito, 21, was last seen at around 7pm on Monday at his accommodation in St Michael's Street.

He is a student at the University Centre Shrewsbury and was reported missing on Tuesday after he had not been seen by his friends and did not attend an exam.

Extensive inquiries are ongoing to find him and police are appealing for the public's help.

Detective Inspector Oliver Ewels said: "It's been almost five days since Jurij was last seen. It is completely out of character for him to go missing and we're very concerned for his welfare.

"If anyone has seen him over the past few days or knows where he is we would ask them to get in contact."

It is not known what Jurij was wearing at the time of he went missing but it is believed he had a rucksack with him.

As part of their inquiries police are also working closely with University Centre Shrewsbury.

Anyone with information is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting reference 823s of May 22 or the Missing People charity on 116 000.
