6am garden fire causes damage to Shrewsbury house

A garden fire involved a large quantity of household rubbish caused damage to a house in Shrewsbury.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Crews were called to a property in Montgomery Way at 6.40am on Sunday.

One appliance was sent from Shrewsbury and on arrival crews discovered a fire involving a large quantity of rubbish in a garden of a house.

The fire had caused damage to a window frame and the guttering of the home. It is believed no one was hurt by the fire.

One hose reel jet was used and firefighters also used thermal imaging cameras to search for further hot spots.
