The Mercedes-Benz of Shrewsbury 10K was due to take place on Sunday and will now take place on July 22.

All entries will be valid for the new race date but if competitors are unable to make the new date, then name transfers will be available until July 19.

Race director Tom Meehan said: "We would like to thank the team at Shropshire Council for their hard work in helping to accommodate the rescheduling of this event to fit into Shrewsbury’s busy events calendar and avoid other major sporting events locally.

"Our extended thanks also go to residents and businesses to whom we may have caused inconvenience with having to postpone and reschedule this event. Your support and understanding is greatly appreciated.

"Finally, thanks to all competitors, spectators, our team of marshals, volunteers, helpers and sponsors. We appreciate the hard work you put in to making the event what it is and very much look forward to seeing you in July."
