Three cars collide on country road

Three cars were involved in an accident on a country road this morning.

Police, ambulance and the fire service were called to the Holyhead Road in Nesscliffe, near Shrewsbury at 8.30am after reports of a three vehicle collision involving a red Ford Focus, a blue Peugeot and a silver Ford Galaxy v-tec.

The road was blocked and traffic was diverted while fuel and oil from the cars was cleared from the carriageway.

A West Mercia Police spokeswoman said: "An ambulance attended and the casualties were described as 'walking wounded'."
