Woman found dead after crash near Wroxeter Roman ruins is named

The young woman who was found dead in her car in a field on the outskirts of Shrewsbury has been named.

Stacey Jennifer Neal, from Shrewsbury, was found in her black three door Fiat Punto on land alongside the B4380 at Wroxeter on August 21.

The 28-year-old was discovered at just after 5am in the morning near the Roman ruins.

Police believe she may have been there for around two hours before being discovered. It is thought her car crashed off the country road and landed in the field. It is not thought that any other vehicle was involved.

Police are seeking witnesses to the crash or anyone who may have seen the Fiat between 3am and 5.07am.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call 101 and quote incident 69s of August 21, 2017.

An inquest in to her death will be opened on Wednesday at the Shirehall by the assistant coroner for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, Heath Westerman.
