Body found in search for missing Gobowen man
A body has been found by police in the search for missing Gobowen man Gareth Wyn Stephens.
Gareth, aged 41, was last seen outside Sainsburys in Oswestry at around 11.45am on Wednesday morning.
But last night West Mercia Police confirmed it had found a body in Oswestry and that Gareth's next of kin had been informed.
A spokesman for the force said: "A body has been found in Oswestry as part of a search for 41-year-old Gareth Stephens, who was reported missing from Gobowen on Wednesday.
"His next of kin has been informed and have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
"Formal identification is yet to take place.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.
"We would like to thank the public and the media for their help in sharing an earlier appeal."
