A taste of winter on Ellesmere mere
Shropshire and Mid Wales are enjoying a taste of winter this weekend with freezing temperatures and even the risk of snow showers.
After the rain and high winds of last week yesterday saw wall-to-wall sunshine across the region. The cold polar air was expected to remain until Monday when warmer temperatures were expected to return for just one day before another dip for the rest of the week.
It was a chilly start for the ducks and gees on the mere at Ellesmere as the sun rose yesterday morning as this photo shows.
