Teenager taken to hospital after car overturns near Ellesmere

A teenager has been taken to hospital after a car overturned near Ellesmere.

One fire engine and an ambulance were sent to the junction of the B5068 and Cross Lane in Dudleston Heath near Ellesmere at about 8.30pm last night.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the 17-year-old was treated for back and neck pain.

Jamie Arrowsmith, communications officer for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to reports of a car that had overturned at the junction of the B5068 and Cross Lane at 8.22pm last night.

"We sent one ambulance to the scene and treated a 17-year-old male, who was driving the car, for neck and back pain, as well as some minor cuts. He was out of the car on our arrival.

"He was immobilised and taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital."
