Factory worker injured unloading lorry

A worker has been taken to hospital after being injured in a logging yard at the Kronospan factory in Chirk

The air ambulance was called to the incident shortly after 7am

The man was hurt while unloading a lorry at the site this morning.

The air ambulance attended the incident, after being called at around 7.10am, as well as the police, who said that the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) had been informed.

A spokesman for Kronospan said: "One of our employees suffered an accident while unloading a lorry this morning.

"He has been taken to hospital and as is the normal case in such situations, the HSE has been informed."

The Wales Ambulance Service earlier said it had been a called to attend an incident with a person "needing urgent medical care at an industrial site".

North Wales Police said they had attended with a spokesman adding: "We were called at 9.52am regarding an incident at the logging yard at Kronospan. We are currently liaising with the HSE."
