The event will involve multiple sing-a-long sessions via Zoom through the medium of both English and Welsh and will allow attendees to either take part in the session or to sit back and enjoy the virtual choirs.

Sessions being hosted are accessible via smart phone, tablet or computer. Funded by the Arts Council of Wales, Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias Music Centre has also partnered up to help organise the event.

Simon Baynes said: “The ‘Sing From Your Home’ initiative is a wonderful way to encourage people to come together and enjoy music while we’re all still in lockdown at the same time as ensuring we all remain safe at home. Events like these are a great way to bring the entire local community together and are a great way to lift our spirits at such an otherwise difficult time.

“I have considerable experience in this area through a charity, Concertina – Music for the Elderly, which I set up 25 years ago which provides live music and sing-a-longs in care homes and day centres across Wales and England, thereby brightening up the lives of many elderly people.

“I would like to praise everyone involved in organising the event. I know how much time and effort goes into organising these events as we have all had to adapt to new ways of holding events to ensure we all remain safe at home.”

Managing Director of Denbighshire Leisure Ltd, Jamie Groves said:

“We hope many people will sign up and use this opportunity to keep in touch with others, whilst staying safe within the current restrictions. Denbighshire Leisure Ltd’s Active Communities team’s commitment to residents throughout the various lockdowns has been outstanding, and the positive responses we have received from those benefitting from their projects continues to be both inspiring and heart-warming.”

Additional support is available for anyone who needs help setting up the event on Zoom. To register for the event, residents can either email post@cgwm.org.uk or call 01286 685230.
