Inquest on soap actor Iain Rogerson is opened

An inquest on a former television soap star will take place later this month.

Iain Rogerson, of Church View, Chirk, near Oswestry, died at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital on October 13 last year.

Mr Rogerson appeared in a string of daytime and evening soaps during his television career including Casualty, Emmerdale, The Bill and Doctors, and was best-known for playing Harry Flagg in Coronation Street between 2002 and 2004.

At the inquest opening, coroner for North East Wales John Gittins said Mr Rogerson, who also appeared in a string of films, had been admitted to hospital following a suspected overdose of insulin.

The full inquest into the former actor’s death was adjourned and will take place at County Hall in Ruthin on February 28.
