Motorists were warned to avoid the trunk road, south of Oswestry following the accident on Tuesday .

Two lorries were among the vehicles involved in the collision which happened at around 12.30pm on the A5 between West Felton and the Shotatton Crossroads, close to the Sandford turning.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said that one man, a lorry driver, suffered injuries that were not believed to be serious.

He was treated at the scene and taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further assessment.

The crash partially blocked the busy trunk road with queuing traffic in both directions and 15 minute delays for drivers.

Local police officers urged motorists to find alternative routes to avoid the A5.
