Fire crews rescue one-year-old locked in car at Oswestry supermarket

The fire brigade had to be called to help rescue a one-year-old child who had been locked inside a car at a supermarket in Oswestry.

The youngster was met by firefighters at about 10.40am today in Sainsbury's car park on Black Gate Street.

Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service sent one engine from Oswestry Fire Station to the incident, which was classed as urgent.

Crews used various tools and small gear to free the one-year-old, before leaving the scene at about 11am.
