Robbie the ginger tom has already made a name for himself in adverts and other commercials.

But demand for the moggy in increasing, with not only a starring role in the Gala Bingo advert but also an appearance in the the popular BBC daytime drama Doctors.

Watch Robbie's advert:

Robbie lives with Di and Graham Cheal, and four pedigree Bengal cats, near Nesscliffe and had seven years out of the limelight enjoying life in the Shropshire countryside.

Then a couple of years ago the cat, born on a farm near Oswestry, was chosen for a Pet Insurance company photo shot and things have snowballed.

Agency

Di, who runs the Cat World shop in Oswestry's indoor market, said: "In the advert with Keith Duffy Robbie has to walk along a brick wall that Duffy is sitting on.

"He also recently appeared in the Blinds to Go advert and for those who watch Doctors, Robbie is the cat, Geoffrey."

"It was a friend of ours whose cats were signed up to an agency who told me that Pet Insurance was looking for a ginger cat for an advert. He had done nothing like that before but he took to it really well. Then it progressed to filming which again he settled to quickly. It's just the travelling to London and Birmingham that he is not keen on," she said.

"Robbie is our feline superstar but at home he is still our moggy living among the Bengal cats. He is very vocal and likes to think he is the boss but if one of them were to challenge him I am sure he would run away.

"He is very affectionate and gentle."

Not to be outdone the Bengal cats have their own Facebook page, Bengal Cat World, which has more than 100,000 followers.
