The Moreton Hall Sixth Form student, who had been growing her hair over the past year, made the brave decision to cut her long hair in order to donate it to children’s charity The Little Princess Trust.

It provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young adults up to the age of 24, who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.

Mia said: "One in three people are affected by cancer and having seen members of my family and close friends suffer from hair loss I was keen to offer my help to future sufferers.

“I was a little nervous about having my hair cut after such a long time growing it, but it is such a great cause and all of my friends have been really supportive.”

The charity can accept a minimum hair donation of seven inches but Mia decided to cut nine inches from her hair which will be used towards making a much longer wig.

During the process Mia’ s generous friends and family  helped her to raise over £300 to help boost the charity funds.

Mia joins The Duchess of Cambridge who recently donated her hair to the worthwhile cause.
