Playground for dogs

A playground for our four legged friends should be built on a field in Oswestry, a councillor says.

Councillor Jay Moore will ask the town council on Monday to consider providing a dog agility park on Brynhafod field.

He says that the field has been adopted by the public as a safe walking space for dogs.

"I propose that we should invest in additional seating, bins for faeces and a small area for dog training that includes simply activities such as jumping blocks, slalom poles, a see-saw and dog tunnel.

"Many residents of the town have canine friends and a safe and practical space for training would benefit owner and non-owners alike."

He said the money could come from the council's windfall money from the lease of the former smithfield land.
