A host of premises were targeted by thieves on the Mile Oak Industrial Estate overnight on Monday, and the break-ins were discovered when staff arrived for work on Tuesday morning.

Investigations are under way, and officers were at the scene on yesterday obtaining CCTV footage and carrying out forensic work.

Currently no one has been arrested for the incidents, and the West Mercia Police investigation is still ongoing.

Oswestry Police Inspector Tracy Ryan said the incidents were very much planned thefts.

She said: "We were made aware of it on Tuesday morning when people went into work and saw the damage.

"We have been down there to gather evidence and the investigation is now ongoing.

"It wasn't a case of businesses being ram raided, it was very much a planned series of thefts with people not wanting to cause any disturbance.

"If it was the case they were ram raided someone would have spotted them I think, because that industrial estate is quite busy even late at night.

"We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to again come forward.

"If people have information on the items stolen they should come forward, one of the premises targeted had telephones and TVs."

Inspector Ryan has also advised businesses in the area to remain vigilant and take measures to keep their properties safe and secure.

She also said extra patrols would be taking place around the area.

She added: "We always advice people to keep their businesses secure, and it is no different.

"Some times the people responsible do come back to the area that has been hit.

"There will be extra patrols by officers in the area."

Anyone with information or who may have seen anything suspicious is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting reference 110s 050618.
