Sondheim's complex storyline tells of four central characters Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack - of beanstalk fame - and the childless baker and his wife.

Each embark on a journey into othe woods to try and fulfil their respective dreams and the way their individual stories cross and intertwine with each other.

The show's director Kate MacDonald said as to be expected with Stephen Sondheim, things are far from being 'Happy Ever After'.

"We are really excited to be bringing such a classic show as 'Into the Woods' to Oswestry," she said.

"The show which, contains many new younger members of the company, is coming along well and we are looking forward to producing a top class production for the people of Oswestry and its surrounding area".

The show opens on April 12 at Marches School Theatre and has four performances on April 12, 13 and 14 at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm matinee on April 14.
