The Midnight Ride based in Oswestry, Shropshire sees riders embark on an 85 mile route through Shropshire and Mid Wales, finishing on the Welsh coast.

This year's event, on June 23, will continue to raise funds for the Severn Hospital.

The 2018 event, organised by Oswestry cyclist, Alan Lewis, will begin a new partnership with Wrexham-based Tweeks Cycles.

Mr Lewis founded the event in 2015 and it has grown steadily each year since its inception. He is himself a talented cycling and has been a member of the British Triathlon, Team GB squad.

He says it is now aiming to expand and attract more cyclists to the Midnight Cycle Ride in 2018 with the help of Tweeks Cycles.

“I’m excited to be working with Chris and the team at Tweeks. By working together, we’re aiming to secure the event for future years and attract more, avid riders. We’ll also continue to support the local Charity Severn Hospice, who I have raised money for the last 10 or so years.”

Head of Tweeks Cycles Chris Davies added: “Tweeks are proud to be the title sponsor for this year’s midnight ride. We’re really excited to support a great local event and worthwhile cause in Severn Hospice. I’m really looking forward to working closely with Alan Lewis to make the 2018 event the most successful yet!”
