A lifesize sculpture of Spiderman is welcoming visitors to the British Ironwork Centre and is sure to be a hit with families.

The tourist attraction says the spidey statue was acquired to co-incide with the release of the new film, Spiderman - the Homecoming.

Peter Parker, played for the first time by Tom Holland, is trying to balance High School with fighting evil in the latest blockbuster.

Clive Knowles from the British Ironwork Centre said that there would be several new sculptures arriving over the summer.

"We have a massive spider already, now we have our very own Spiderman," he said.

"He has already proved hugely popular with our visitors, of all ages and we would love to see him in selfies on facebook and twitter throughout the summer. It's not very often you get the chance to have a photo with a superhero."

"Anyone posting selfies please remember #britishironworkcentre #SpiderSelfie."
