Dash cam appeal over death of motorcyclist in Oswestry A483 crash

Drivers with dash cams in their vehicles are being urged to help police investigating the death of a young motorcyclist near Oswestry.

The rider in his 20s died on the A483 just outside the town on Sunday.

He had been on a Honda motorcycle travelling towards Welshpool when the bike is believed to have been involved in a collision with a black Hyundai Tucson at Sweeney.

Emergency services responded but West Mercia Police say the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been revealed by police.

Officers say the driver of the Hyundai was uninjured.

The trunk road was close after the crash which happened at about 2.15pm. It remained closed while accident investigations took place on the carriageway.

Vehicles were diverted away from the busy main road which connects north and south Wales.

West Mercia Police spokesman Kieren Bodill said officers investigating the incident wanted to hear from anyone who witnessed it or saw the motorcycle and the manner in which it was being ridden, before the collision occurred.

They also want to hear from anyone who owns a dashboard camera and and travelled on the A483 between Oswestry and Llanymynech on Sunday at about that time.
