The third event, organised by Sir John Talbot's School, takes place on April 7.

Starting and finishing at the school, the course is mainly flat but does have some short hills just to challenge the runners.

Roads in the town centre will close at 9.45am and will re-open at about 11.30am.

Race Director Hayley Alldridge said: "The Whitchurch Whippets have been a great support with the training runs they have hosted and I know many participants have taken part this year.

"I hope local residents will support the runners as they make their way around the town. Each year the support gets better and better.

"Three years ago, I never imaged just how popular this event would be. I am proud to be part of it and seeing so many people take up an active lifestyle in order to take part."
