Fire crews were called to the Halifax branch in Green End just before 11am today.

The fire service call handler told the caller to evacuate the building.

The small fire was involving a light fitting and was out on arrival of the fire service.

The firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to check the area for heat.

A spokesman for the fire service said: “We advisee them when we took the call to evacuate the building as we do with any fire.

“It was in a rear store room and the crews used a thermal imaging camera to look for any hidden heat sources.”

The situation was under control by 11.15am.
