The organisers of an all-female biker gathering in Shropshire over the weekend said they have set a new world record.

They said 1,132 people turned out for the rally in Prees, near Whitchurch, beating the previous record of 1,002, which was set in Australia.

The women gathered at Lynn's Raven Café, Prees.

Sue Knight, one of the participants, said: "What an amazing day, and achievement.

"Thank you to all who organised and helped on the day, it all ran so smoothly.

"From the guy at the gate directing, to the ticket distributors and the camera girl; the parking attendants, the friendliness of the merchandise and raffle ticket sellers, and of course, the organisers - Nimi and Sherrie. Thank you all so much. A brilliant day, thank you."
