Man taken to hospital after three-vehicle crash on A41 at Tern Hill

A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash near Market Drayton today.

The crash, which involved two cars and a van, happened on the A41 in Tern Hill shortly after 1.30pm.

The man was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital complaining of back pain.

The accident caused the road to be blocked between the A53 and Hedley Way.

Claire Brown, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We sent one ambulance, paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance with a doctor on board. One man, who was given pain relief, was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by land ambulance."

Firefighters from Hodnet, Market Drayton and Wellington were called to the scene and used Holmatro cutting equipment to free one casualty.
