Specialist sand and aggregates supplier, Grundon has written to residents outlining its proposals for Tern Hill Quarry next to the A41.

It says a planning application could be lodged later this year. If the venture goes ahead it could mean up to 80,000 tonnes of sand extracted each year over the next 15 years.

The company says it could consider the use of renewable technology to help power the site.
