Biker killed in A41 crash named as 53-year-old man

An inquest has been opened into the death of a motorcyclist who was involved in a crash.

Shaun Rutty, 53, was riding his motorbike on the A41 in Rosehill, Market Drayton, on Saturday, April 17 when he was involved in a collision with a Peugeot 206 and a VW Polo.

Labourer Mr Rutty, from Stafford, was pronounced dead at the scene. His inquest has been adjourned until July 27 at Shirehall.

Last week, police appealed for witnesses to the crash. Anyone with information about the crash, or dash-cam footage, can contact Pc Mark Smith on 101, quoting reference 399i April 17.

The drivers of the cars involved suffered minor injuries, with the Polo driver going to Royal Stoke University Hospital as a precaution.

The A41 was closed between Tern Hill and Wistanswick throughout the evening of the crash as collision investigators examined the site.

Firefighters from Market Drayton, Hodnet and Wellington were all sent to the scene.
