Market Drayton garden celebrated in radio programme

Staff at a popular garden near Market Drayton will be the stars of a BBC radio show broadcast this week.

The Dorothy Clive Garden 'hosted' a recording of Gardener's Question Time, with the finished product to be broadcast nationally on Friday and Sunday.

For logistical reasons the actual panel show went ahead at the Mitchell Arts Centre in Stoke-on-Trent, with the expert panel greeted by representatives from the garden.

Among them was the curator, Kathryn Robey, a self-confessed "geek" of the programme.

Jo Tennant from the garden said: "The night went really well, it was a great success.

"The audience provided a range of interesting questions for the panel. Kathryn Robey, curator, gave an introductory speech about the garden and its history as DCG were the hosts, but because of the numbers we held it at the Mitchell Art Centre in Hanley who kindly helped with the evening.

"When the programme is aired it will state that they are at DCG."
