Man in 60s escapes microlight crash near Market Drayton

A man in his 60s escaped with minor wrist injuries after his microlight plane crash-landed in a field near Market Drayton.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 6pm on Monday, to find the microlight in a field near Ternhill Road.

The man, the only passenger, was attended to by paramedics but his injuries were not serious.

West Mercia Police spokeswoman Eleanor Harris said: "Police attended after a plane was reported to have come down in a field.

"An ambulance did attend, but the man's level of injury was quite minor."
