Inquest opens into Stoke Heath death

An inquest has opened into the death of a man from Stoke Heath prison.

Jerome Jones, from Birmingham, died on October 27 this year.

A report read out at the hearing at Shirehall yesterday said the 26-year-old was taken via ambulance from the prison, near Market Drayton, to the Princess Royal Hospital, in Telford.

He was in cardiac arrest and did not respond to resuscitation.

The inquest was adjourned until January 24.
