Market Drayton woman, 26, dies after crash with lorry

A 26-year-old Market Drayton woman has died following a crash with a lorry.

She died on the A51 near to the junction with Tolldish Lane, Great Haywood, in Staffordshire, at about 8.45pm yesterday.

The woman was driving a black Audi A3 which was involved in a collision with a white Scania Tanker lorry.

She was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital but died as a result of her injuries. The road was closed for several hours.

Police say the woman's family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers. Formal identification has not yet taken place.

Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses following the crash.
