Emergency services were called to Prospect Road at about 2.15pm.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said two ambulances were called to the scene and paramedics dealt with two patients.
Spokesman Jamie Arrowsmith said: "Staff assessed one young child who was discharged at the scene.
"A woman in her 40s had a small cut to her head and had back and shoulder pain. She was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital.
"Ambulance staff believe a medical incident might have happened prior to the collision."
The crash also led to the road to be closed for a short time.
