Man injured in attack on Market Drayton street

A man has suffered injuries to his face after being attacked in the street in market Drayton

Police were called to Queen Street at about 2pm today after reports of an assault.

The victim, a man in his 20s, received facial injuries and was treated at the scene by ambulance services.

Kieren Bodill, operational communications assistant for West Mercia Police, said: “It is reported that a number of offenders had approached the victims and assaulted him in an unprovoked attack.

“The investigation is in its early stages."

Officers are appealing to anyone with information, or who witnessed the incident and has yet come forward, to please call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting 403s of August 18.
