Factory evacuated as fire breaks out
Workers were evacuated when fire broke out in the basement of a factory near Welshpool.
The alarm was raised at Dynacast UK on the Offa’s Dyke Business Park in Buttington just before 10am.
Fire crews from Welshpool, Montgomery, Llanfyllin, Newtown and Oswestry went to the scene and brought the fire under control within an hour. Firefighters donned breathing apparatus to go into the premises.
Dynacast UK is the largest zinc pressure die caster in the UK, creating precision engineering components.
