A body has been found in the search for a missing 22-year-old man from Newtown.

Dyfed-Powys Police today confirmed that a body has been found in connection with the search for Sean Miller, who disappeared 12 days ago.

Mr Miller was last seen in the early hours of Saturday February 2 while on a night out in Newtown.

Police have since carried out an extensive search, including along the River Severn, and found a red hooded top in a field.

The body is yet to be identified and the coroner has been informed, Dyfed-Powys Police said this afternoon.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "It is with sadness that Dyfed-Powys Police can confirm a body has been found during the search for missing Sean Miller, from Newtown.

"Our thoughts are with his family, who have been informed of the development.

"They are being supported by specially trained officers at this time.

“HM Coroner is aware; formal identification has not yet taken place.”

The sad news came shortly after his family issued a plea for fresh leads.
