Freelances across the Welsh border can apply for financial support
Powys freelancers in the cultural and creative sectors who continue to face financial hardship due to Covid may be eligible for further support.
Welsh Government has announced a second phase of the Freelancer Fund to help ease ongoing cash flow pressures for affected professionals.
Once again the grants of £2,500 will be processed by Powys County Council according to criteria set by Welsh Government.
The fund will prioritise those most affected within significantly impacted industries, such as events, music and performing arts. Freelancers who are working at normal or near normal levels should not apply for the funding.
Eligible freelancers will need to complete a simple online form on the council’s website which opens on Monday.
Councillor Aled Davies, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance, said: “Yet again the council will play a key role in delivering crucial support to freelancers in Powys through this scheme.
“Many people benefitted from the first phase, and we will make every effort to ensure that people receive the latest grant where they are eligible for it.
“I hope this extension of support will be a welcome relief to freelancers after a long period of uncertainty.”
Online applications for phase 2 of the Freelancer Fund will open on Monday 17 May and close on Tuesday 1 June. Further details can be found on the council’s website, powys.gov.uk/freelancergrant
