Powys needs to hold a £40 million plus hole in its budget in the coming years, with the authority already warning of a potential 12 per cent tax increase.

Other ways are being explored, including scaling back services across the board.

Online, Powys has a host of buildings listed as they look to bring some more needed finances into the county's coffers.

The former Hay on Wye library is listed for £170,000, with the council asking for a guide price on the former Cae Post recycling site near Welshpool of £325,000.

A host of recycling plant equipment was also placed for sale, with the former Knighton Library commanding an £80,000 guide price.

Plots of land and various buildings are also for sale, including Brecon Youth Centre for a £300,000 free hold, and the Talgarth Highways Depot.

A host of grade two listed farm buildings, two houses, woodland and paddocks are also up for sale in Guilsfield, for £650,000.
