Injured hill walker carried from beauty spot

Fire crews carried a hill walker with an injured ankle from a county beauty spot yesterday afternoon.

A fire engine and a Pinzgauer all-terrain vehicle were sent to Batch Valley in Church Stretton at around 2.50pm to help the casualty.

Crews helped move the individual from the hillside and they were left in the care of paramedics.

Elsewhere, a tractor fire was reported in Danford Lane in Claverley just after midday. Three fire engines were sent to the scene.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 12.08pm on Saturday, January, we received a call reporting a fire classified as tractor fire.

"Three fire appliances including the incident support unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth.

"Fire involving one tractor. Crews being supported by an over the border pump."
