Drink drive arrest after Bridgnorth car and coach crash

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a crash between a car and a coach in Bridgnorth.

The incident happened shortly after 6.15pm on Thursday evening on Pound Street, with emergency services called to the scene.

Five fire appliances attended the incident, along with West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service.

No one was seriously injured in the crash, and a man is currently in custody on suspicion of drink driving.

A spokeswoman for West Mercia Police said: "Police were called to a report of a two vehicle collision on Pound Street in Bridgnorth at around 6.10pm yesterday."

"It involved a silver Audi and a bus. A 49-year-old man from Shropshire was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. He remains is police custody at this time."

No one was trapped in the vehicles, and first aid was given to one casualty the scene.
