Hetty’s cafe at Bridgnorth Endowed Leisure Centre has undergone a dramatic transformation.

The cafe, which was a a collaborative project between Bridgnorth Endowed School and Aspens, the recently-appointed school caterers, now offers a place for people to relax following a swim, workout or school run.

Sue Underhill, business director at Bridgnorth Endowed, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with our new community facility. I want to say thank you to everyone who made it happen.

“Our aim is to open our doors to the community and we work hard to provide members of the public, as well as our students, with the best amenities possible.”

Hetty's is now the third community cafe ran by Aspens Vintage Events, managed by Sue Hicks - the other two facilities opened earlier this year and are situated in Pershore and Lido Park, Droitwich.

The sites regularly host family events during school holidays and on weekends, the facilities are also used for social events and local club meetings.

All food is homemade and freshly prepared on site, and the menu includes sandwiches, hot daily specials, cakes and biscuits, and speciality teas and coffees.

Plans are also firmly in place to provide onsite catering for leisure centre children’s parties in the coming weeks.

Opening hours are from 9.30am to 9.30pm from Monday to Friday, and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.

In an attempt to bring the community together, customers will be able to enjoy a free hot drink when they buy a slice of cake until October 19.
