A blue Proton and a silver Honda Civic, both with no tax or insurance were seized from the Highley area yesterday.

Checks were conducted at the scene and it was confirmed that the car had no tax or insurance.

The tax for the Proton expired in the summer of 2017 and for the Civic in December 2017.

Officers contacted a partner agency to arrange the recovery of the cars to make the roads a safer place.

Within 40 minutes of officers arriving at the scene, the cars were removed. If either of the owners wants their vehicle back, they will have to prove that they have insurance, MOT and valid tax for it. They will also have to pay at least £150 to the recovery company.

If you are aware of a vehicle being driven illegally and would like to help keep the roads safe, call to report your concerns on 101.
