Now here's a question for our gardening readers – is December 7 a good time to plant your roses? Presumably so, as back in 1966 Ronald Parr and Arthur Davies were planting some outside the Lord Hill pub in Dawley, and they must have known what they were doing as they worked for Dawley Urban District Council parks department. The work was aimed at brightening up the town.
