Pictures From The Past - September 28Welcome to this week's collection of nostalgia photos from the pages of the Shropshire Star.By Toby NealPublished Sep 28, 2018 CommentsPatients were wheeled out to meet the Duchess of Kent when she visited Shropshire Orthopaedic Hospital at Gobowen on May 29, 1957. The hospital is famous for using fresh air as part of the treatment, with wards open to the elements. Does anybody know when exactly the practice ended? During the same visit she went to the Dame Agnes Hunt Memorial Village and Oswestry School. The picture is courtesy of the Geoff Charles Collection held at the National Library of Wales – Geoff Charles was a photographer based in Oswestry.
