The Reverend Charrington, top left, led a united service in the Square at Wellington on Good Friday in 1976 – the date was April 16. As you can see, it drew a good crowd and there was what looks like a small school band. Older Wellingtonians will remember well some of those disappeared shops like Hobsons. Sketchley and Foster menswear were also popular then.
