No further Covid deaths in the county

There continue to have been no further Covid deaths at the county's NHS trusts.

The county continues to see no further Covid deaths, with the last coming on March 21.

NHS England figures show the death toll for the county's hospitals remains 595.

Since the pandemic began 554 people have died with Covid at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH), 34 at Shropshire Community Health Trust, and seven at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital near Oswestry.

The last Covid death at any of the organisations was March 21, at SaTH.

The number of people to have died at county care homes with Covid remains 296, while in Powys the Covid death toll rose by one this week to 266.

Across the UK another 34 deaths were recorded within 28 days of first positive test, taking the total to 127,225.

The number of first dose vaccinations for the UL now stands at 32,574,221, while 8,931,547 have had both doses.
