No new Covid deaths at Shropshire's hospitals

There have been no new Covid-associated deaths reported in Shropshire's hospitals this weekend.

The latest update confirmed that no deaths with coronavirus had been reported on Sunday, following a similar announcement on Saturday.

It means the death toll at county hospitals remains at 595, with 554 of those reported at the main Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital (SaTH) NHS trust.

In all of England's NHS hospital trusts, there were 15 new deaths reported today.

An NHS England spokesman said: "A further 15 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 86,407.

"Patients were aged between 40 and 96 years old. All patients had known underlying health conditions.

"Date of death ranges from 21 March 2021 to 3 April 2021 with the majority being on or after 1 April.

"Their families have been informed."
