Two more coronavirus deaths at Shropshire hospitals

Two further patients with coronavirus have died at Shropshire's main hospitals.

The latest NHS figures show they both died in the care of Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, which runs Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.

It means a total of 578 people have now died with Covid-19 at county health trusts since the start of the pandemic.

The majority of the deaths have happened at SaTH's hospitals but 34 patients with Covid-19 also died in the care of Shropshire Community Health Trust and seven at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital near Oswestry.

A further 281 people have lost their lives in county care homes.

In Powys the latest Office for National Statistics data shows that 235 people have died.
