Mark Pritchard, MP for the Wrekin, said he had had discussions with local health bosses about when local centres would open.

"I am very pleased that they have confirmed to me that several new and local vaccine centres will open over next few days," he said.

"They also confirmed that Newport and Wellington will open in January and not February as some people have said."
