
The number of Covid-19 cases has hit a new peak in Telford and Wrekin, while those in the Shropshire Council area have also rocketed.
The week ending January 10 saw 952 positive cases in Telford & Wrekin, a 17 per cent rise on the previous week.
In Shropshire the seven days up to January 7 saw 1,457 cases – up 687 on the previous week.
The seven day infection rate for Telford and Wrekin is now 529 confirmed cases of per 100,000 people, and 450 in Shropshire.
Public health officials have urged people to follow the rules and remain at home unless essential.
