Beth Thomas, from Aqueduct, has been a woman on a mission after she was unable to put the bar down over her stomach on a ride.

Since then she has taken on a tough exercise regime and followed a WW nutrition plan.

She has had such success that she has now become a coach with the brand.

The 36-year-old took the decision to get fit after taking her daughter Imogen, eight, on a ride at Thomas Land at Drayton Manor Theme Park.

Call

She said: “I was trying to get the bar down on one of the rides but I couldn’t get it to click into place.

“I thought my daughter would have to get off the ride because of me, but luckily the staff let us go round anyway.

“That was my wake-up call really.”

She will undertake the skydive at Tilstock on Saturday, March 23 for Severn Hospice which cared for her father and aunt.

“The hospice means the world to me after the excellent care they provided,” she added.

“Each year as a family we try to raise as much money for them as possible.

“So the skydive seemed the perfect idea.”

Mike Perry, community fundraiser for Severn Hospice, said: “Beth and her family have already raised more than an incredible £21,000 for us in memory of her dad Jim, who died in our care. Their continued support means we can be there in the future to help local people and their families when they need it most.”

Dawn Couch, spokeswoman for WW, said: “Beth decided she needed to get fit and healthy and lose weight so that she could join in with the things her children wanted to do.

“She has continued as a WW member and coach as she wants to be the person who can say yes to joining in with things.”

She added: “She is no longer the person sat on the sidelines being held back by her weight.”
